Times Change...

So we’re just now hearing about this daylight savings time thing.  From what Dad keeps saying, it used to be a glorious thing.  Every fall he could count on going back to standard time but more importantly, getting that extra hours sleep.  Well, unfortunately, no one taught us about that.  They might have tried and we weren’t listening, I don’t really know.

Anyhow, we’ve been doing really well over the last couple months or so.  Going to sleep around 7:30, sleeping until 5am.  It seemed to work out good for everyone.  Since Mom and Dad programmed us so well and stick to a pretty strict schedule, we still want to do these things at those times.  No one told us that this magical clock change would happen.

So Dad, stop getting mad because I wake up at 4am and want to eat.  It’s time for breakfast, get over it.  Mom, just because we crank out at 6:30pm doesn’t mean we don’t like your cooking…really, you’re a good cook.  It’s just bed time.

Let’s leave things on a happy note…here’s kind of what we looked like for Halloween.  There were eye patches too but we didn’t like those.

Our First Tailgating

So we went to our first football game last week.  Pitt played Youngstown State…I know, a real challenge.  We didn’t stay the whole game of course.  We are babies after all and it’s a little hard to keep us sitting still for that long even when there’s a lot of cool stuff going on around us.  There were a bunch of other little kids there too though so it’s not like we felt out of place.

The best part of the whole day was the tailgating.  Something tells me that Mom and Dad were a little more laid back than they usually are in the parking lot before the game, but I guess we’ll see that when we get older.

The tailgating included ribs!  Yes, ribs!  The RibFest was going on at the North Shore too at the same time.  We tried and tried but Dad wouldn’t let us try any ribs.  But here he is taunting me with one:

At least Grammie got us these cool Pitt outfits to wear.  We were representin’ with all the other babies in the crowd.  Speaking of, we saw a couple of 2-yr-old cheerleaders that we’re keeping our eye on.

Stay cool,

We're gangsta

I gotta give Mom lots of credit. She’s really embracing the whole mom thing. She really has. She even tries to tone down her music choices in the car. And she doesn’t listen to Howard Stern anymore when we’re in the car. She’s real careful with what we hear. But Dad on the other hand doesn’t seem to care. When I was with him last week, do you know what he had on? Master P. Something about green and Hennessey. I don’t know. I guess his musical selection is eclectic enough to expose Lukas and I to a bunch of stuff and maybe that's good.

Sorry I don’t have much of an update. In the meantime, enjoy my best Biggie impersonation:

Things We've Observed

So there have been a few things we’ve observed in our short time on this planet. Here’s a list, in no particular order:
  • Mom and dad might have been cool at one point, but not anymore. Though we can see how they lost touch with their coolness. Seriously, they are cleaning poo off a small human being and sometimes being pissed on at the same time. Who can be cool doing that? Better yet, how can being cool be a priority when that is happening? I think mom can bounce back from this sort of thing but dad might be a lost cause.
  • You can’t reason with us…we don’t understand…stop trying.
  • When mom and dad think they’re not able to handle us, they should put us in someone else’s care, even if it’s just for a few hours. They will quickly see that they know more than they think and we make that other person’s life hell too. They just can’t handle it as well. Why do you think we’ve been through four people already at daycare!
  • We’re pretty sure at one point dad wanted to abuse drugs. But he talked it out with mom and decided to go a different route. Apparently coffee and energy drinks are where it’s at.
  • EVERY DAY IS THE SAME!!! We know it helps mom and dad stay sane, but cheese and rice guys, shake it up once in a while.
  • It looks like dad has put on a few pounds since we’ve known him. Seriously, he doesn’t have to taste EVERYTHING he feeds us.
  • And like every good Pittsburgher, we love fireworks and parades, as evidenced in the pictures below from the 4th of July parade!

Daddy tried to drown me!

So we've recently started taking our baths together since dad took the shower doors off the tub.  It's fun because we can play and splash together.  I frequently try to take the red crab toy from Lukas because for some reason, he always has it when we start.

Anyhow, we were going through our normal routine last night and I was all clean and just playing for a minute.  Well, dad decided to turn around and get my towel ready but at the same time, I thought it would be a good idea to stretch really far forward to reach the cool octopus toy that was floating around.

All I remember is seeing a white light and a strange voice calling out to me.  It might have been that God guy I heard about at baptism a few weeks back, but I'm not sure.  Then, next thing I know, dad's holding me and mom is telling him how much she hates him.

After I came to and pieced it all together, it seems as if dad was trying to rub me out...or was it an "accident" as he claims.  I guess we'll see what happens at our next tubby time.  All I know is, when I hear the bath water running, I'm going to reach for mom so this doesn't happen again.

Well it's about time...

Dad kept saying he was going to start a blog or a webpage or something as an efficient way to share photos with family and friends who aren't on Facebook.  Well, he never got around to it so we decided that since we sit at daycare all day, figured we would make the time productive.

We're not exactly sure how often we'll update this, but if you follow Dad on Twitter (@papaduncs) or are friends with either Mom or Dad on Facebook, you'll probably know about the updates.  If not, just check back every once in a while.

But for now, we think just some embarrasing photos of ourselves will do.

Enjoy.
